Two additional LWSD students receive National Merit College-Sponsored Scholarship

More than 750 additional distinguished students recognized nationwide

Redmond, Wash. – The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced this week that two additional Lake Washington School District (LWSD) students will receive National Merit College-Sponsored Scholarships:

• Ameera Galeeb, Redmond High School – National Merit Case Western Reserve University Scholarship
• Shreya Sharma, Redmond High School – National Merit Florida Atlantic University Scholarship

These two LWSD students are among more than 750 additional students who will receive these college-sponsored scholarships. They join more than 2,500 other college-sponsored award recipients who were announced in June, including Ann Joby (Redmond High School), Vi Oliver Louise Twyman (Lake Washington High School), Kedar Venkatachalam (Tesla STEM High School), Niharika Dinesh (Eastlake High School) and Zenith Tang (Eastlake High School).

Officials of each sponsor college selected their scholarship winners from among Finalists in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program who will attend their institution. These awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship.
